BANK OF AFRICA strengthens its commitment to climate resilience by promoting sustainable water governance
Casablanca, July 6, 2026 – Convinced that climate challenges require a collective effort from public, private, and academic players, BANK OF AFRICA reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development by supporting dialogue on major environmental issues. Through its Pan-African Chair for Sustainability and Impact Finance, BANK OF AFRICA works to bring together the academic world, decision-makers, and field actors to encourage innovation and promote integrated approaches to tackle climate challenges.
It was within this framework that the Chair organized the 2nd GI-EAU Symposium on July 3rd and 4th, dedicated to integrated water governance. In partnership with Hassan II University of Casablanca (FSJES Aïn Chock), this event brought together researchers, experts, public institutions, the private sector, and international organizations to discuss levers for strengthening water security and territorial resilience.
Discussions focused in particular on the effectiveness of water management strategies, innovative solutions such as desalination and wastewater reuse, and mechanisms promoting a more equitable distribution of this essential resource between urban, rural, and agricultural areas.
By making sustainability a cornerstone of its strategy, BANK OF AFRICA reaffirms its role as a committed player in supporting major environmental and societal transitions, and pursues its ambition to contribute to the emergence of innovative solutions for more resilient and inclusive development.
